The key advantage is in our copolymer design and optimization, allowing the product to retain elasticity and suitability for high-speed processing. Elastic nonwovens with our polymers are proven to be drapeable and breathable. This provides soft, quiet and discrete features while improving aesthetics and stretch recovery to ensure products maintain a snug fit without redmarking.
Kraton™ G1643 is a bi-component spunbond grade specifically created as the core elastic component for elastic yarns and nonwovens. For single use applications, Kraton G1643 is paired with polypropylene, creating a very soft, bi-directional stretch fabric. For durable applications, Kraton G1643 is paired with polyester or nylon, split into microfibers during a hydro-entangling process, resulting in strong fabrics with stretch, which can be dyed. Kraton™ MD1648 is a melt blown grade created with high melt flow, allowing for easier processing. This results in fabrics that are soft, breathable and have bi-directional stretch. These fabrics can be incorporated into laminates designed for a variety of applications.
Kraton polymers also exhibit excellent process stability and require no pre-drying. Fabric elasticity can be further enhanced by pre-stretching. Dyeing and/or printing are possible with the proper sheath material.
