Advancements in the roofing industry are driven to balance lower cost and sustainable solutions. Changing building codes and evolving aesthetic and architectural expectations further add to the need for continuous innovations.

Kraton’s broad range of polymers enables the development of long-lasting, cost-efficient roofing products that can withstand challenging climates and tough conditions. Our styrenic block copolymers (SBC) are used in modified bituminous roofing materials to deliver key features including flexibility over a wide range of temperatures; resistance to thermal degradation; performance over long-time periods; excellent waterproofing properties; ease of application; and enhanced aesthetics. Our styrene-block-butadiene-block-styrene (SBS), styrene-isoprene-styrene (SIS) and styrene-ethylene/butylene-styrene (SEBS) polymer modifiers form a strong network within the bitumen, enhancing its physical properties to create roofing materials that deliver superior performance.
