Responsible Procurement

Kraton’s Responsible Procurement Program sets clear expectations for suppliers to conduct business ethically, support responsible sourcing, uphold human rights and fair labor, and commit to continuous improvement in environmental, social, and corporate governance across the supply chain. Our Responsible Procurement Program is based on a number of policies, and we insist that all our suppliers:

  • Conduct business ethically, with integrity, and in compliance with the law.
  • Be dedicated to responsible sourcing.
  • Respect their employees and treat them fairly in accordance with all applicable laws.
  • Be committed to Responsible Care or similar assurances to continuously improve their environmental, health, and safety performance.

Kraton enforces a strict zero-tolerance policy on forced and child labor and requires age verification at all sites. We hold our suppliers to the same standards. We review our Code of Conduct regularly to stay aligned with human rights requirements and offer clear channels for reporting labor concerns. Employees complete quarterly compliance training on business ethics, anti-discrimination, and anti-harassment to maintain a culture of integrity and respect.

Respect for human rights and ethical business practices guide our global operations and extend throughout our supply chain, supported by strong policies such as the Human Rights Policy, Code of Ethics, and Supplier Code of Conduct. We apply due diligence to address risks, including screening suppliers for forced labor and upholding the Slavery and Human Trafficking Statement.

Our Conflict Minerals Policy reflects our compliance requirements and core value of Safety & Integrity. We work with global partners to ensure responsible mineral sourcing by following the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) guidelines, conducting country-of-origin inquiries, and collaborating with suppliers to trace and verify the sources of conflict minerals. This process ensures transparency and upholds high standards across our supply network.

Kraton is an active member of TfS and fully committed to promoting sustainable practices and responsible business conduct throughout our supply chain. We use the TfS platform for due diligence on new suppliers, recommend improvement actions to current suppliers, and support them with training. We also benchmark and track corporate social responsibility (CSR) performance in our supply chain and train our procurement teams on sustainable development.

Our integration of the TfS framework into our Sustainable Procurement Policy and Procedures includes:

  • Requiring all suppliers to commit to Kraton’s Supplier Code of Conduct.
  • Leveraging TfS tools, such as TfS Assessments and Audits, to improve transparency and drive sustainability performance in the chemical industry and its supply chains.
  • Basing vendor selection on spend and CSR risk, taking into account country, industry, and procurement risk.
