Crude Tall Oil (CTO)

A bio-based material obtained as a byproduct of the pulping of pine wood during the manufacture of kraft paper. It is a complex mixture of fatty acids, rosin acids, and other organic components that serves as a raw material for further refining into products such as tall oil fatty acids and tall oil rosin.
