SYLVASOLV oils can be used as plasticizers in coatings to optimize elasticity, hardness, adhesion to substrates and dry-film appearance.
UNIDYME™ products are dimerized fatty acids characterized by high composition consistency and consistent high quality. Among others, they are designed for manufacturing polyamide curing agents, adhesion promotors for PVC plastisols, UV curing resins, UPR flexibility.
DISTILLED TALL OIL
SYLVATAL™ products contain 10-40 percent rosin acids, combining the advantages of fatty acids and rosin acids – making them an ideal raw material for functional products. SYLVATAL helps improve hardness for indoor varnishes with also providing high-gloss and excellent water and alkali resistance. With the rosin being partially water-soluble, SYLVATAL can also be used in slow-releasing fertilizer/seed coatings.
SYLFAT and CENTURY™ fatty acids are useful in a wide range of industrial applications. These products have a unique degree of unsaturation and fatty acid distribution related to their region of origin. SYLFAT TOFA provides a combination of light color, good color stability and air drying properties. They are used in different binder systems and surfactants to achieve high-performance coating systems. CENTURY products can offer a variety of unique properties including low levels of unsaturation and excellent oxidative stability.
UNI-REZ™ polyamides offer a combination of properties, including excellent adhesion, pigment wetting & gloss, fast solvent release, resistance to water, chemicals, and deep freeze conditions. Thixotropic polyamides provide non-drip performance, ease of use, polar-solvent resistance, and increased rheology control for alkyd binder formulators.
TALL OIL ROSIN
SYLVAROS™ rosin and disproportionated rosins can manufacture emulsifiers for the polymerization process and pigment coating. It can also be an anchoring agent, improving adhesive properties. With the rosin being partially water-soluble, SYLVATAL is fit for use in slow-releasing anti-fouling coatings as well.
MALEIC MODIFIED RESIN
SYLVACOTE™ 7003 resin is a maleic-modified glycerin ester of tall oil rosin used in nitrocellulose coatings for hardness and durability and is found in wood finishing for cabinets and lacquer sealers.
Century™ branched fatty acids can be used as cost-efficient, environmentally friendly building blocks for producing short oil alkyds, which many forced dry industrial metal applications can benefit.
SYLFAT™ TOFA can help improve anti-corrosion properties, and scratch resistance, giving the additional double bonds in the Fatty Acid chain, which will crosslink during drying.

When looking for superior hardness and durability, SYLVACOTE™ maleic modified resins are the right choice.
Marine & Yacht
Aesthetic finishes or anti-corrosion coatings for marine vessels; all have pine chemistry in common if long-lasting beauty and performance must be combined with sustainability. UNI-REX™ Thixotropic Polyamides provide body to the paint. UNIDYME™ dimerized fatty acids are designed, among others, to manufacture polyamide curing agents.
Heavy Duty Containers
Toughness, cost efficiency, and a sustainable raw material base have become increasingly crucial for heavy-duty applications. Both solvent-borne and water-borne coatings technology can benefit from pine-based building blocks to deliver the right combination of properties looked after. Biobased renewable raw materials are the better choice for long-term sustainable coatings solutions.

Waterborne coatings have provided the industry with a sustainable, biobased alternative to fossil-based resins. With the development of alkyd emulsions for architectural applications, bio-based raw materials with good film properties are now achievable with a lower carbon footprint.
Traditional high solids solvent-borne alkyds for exterior usage formulated with SYLFAT™ TOFA benefit from its improved drying times, hardness in combination with low carbon footprint that is 100% biobased.
