Kraton offers advanced, engineered synthetic elastomers that are designed to meet stringent requirements of medical devices while eliminating health concerns from plasticizers and resolve Type I allergies caused by natural rubber. Our polymers and polymer-modified systems can replace natural rubber or polyvinyl chloride (PVC) but are formulated without PVC, phthalates and plasticizers.



Styrenic Block Copolymers (SBC)

Kraton styrenic block copolymers (SBC) offer clarity, flexibility, resilience, strength and durability in addition to easy thermoplastic processing capabilities. It can also be environmentally safe and recyclable. The products deliver outstanding cost performance benefits in the production of tough, transparent medical bags and tubing as well as a broad range of compounds for medical applications.

Kraton enhanced rubber segment (ERS) styrene-ethylene/butylene-styrene (SEBS) polymers offer improved processability and flexibility.  These polymers are highly compatible with polypropylene (PP), allowing the formation of extrudable and moldable compounds with improved flow and reduced hardness without plasticizing oils. The ERS SEBS and PP blends can withstand most sterilization methods and are well suited for producing high-clarity medical bags, tubes and flexible films.
