Climate Action
As a global leader in our industry, Kraton’s climate action strategy is rooted in delivering long-term sustainability value for our operations, our business, and our broader stakeholder community. We take a forward-looking, integrated approach that includes setting bold targets for reducing greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, deploying robust monitoring and management systems, and evaluating both the opportunities and risks of emerging climate initiatives. This proactive framework positions Kraton to meet the growing challenges of climate change while supporting the global transition to a low-carbon future.
Kraton decreased its absolute Scope 1 & 2 GHG emissions by 41% since 2014.

Environmental Impact & Resource Efficiency
We advance environmental impact and resource efficiency by managing water responsibly, minimizing waste and pollution, and protecting biodiversity at every site. Our environmental management systems are designed to achieve Zero Harm, ensuring no harm to our employees, communities, or the environment in every aspect of our operations.
Water Resource Management
Climate change drives global concerns about water scarcity and flooding, which makes effective water management essential for manufacturers such as Kraton. Although our plants do not operate in water-stressed regions, we prioritize water stewardship through water risk assessments, strong governance, and constant monitoring of evolving regulations. By investing in efficient technologies and standardized reporting, Kraton reduces water consumption, safeguards resources, and supports long-term water security across all sites.

Waste Management & Pollution
We are committed to continually improving our processes and reducing the generation of residuals. We seek to minimize waste by recycling or reusing process residuals, such as catalysts, wherever possible. We exercise strict control over non-conforming products and find practical uses for by-products in line with our revised waste management policy. To enhance safety, we have also implemented dedicated training programs for the transportation of hazardous materials.

Biodiversity
Kraton is committed to preserving biodiversity and the ecosystems that support natural habitats and local communities. We recognize the importance of resilient ecosystems for the planet’s future and take active steps to manage biodiversity risks and encourage sustainable land use across our operations. Our facilities are purposefully situated in urban or developed areas, steering clear of critical habitats and regions of High Conservation Value (HCV). Importantly, we have taken a firm stance against building new facilities on untouched greenfield sites, ensuring that our growth never comes at the expense of biodiversity.
