Q: What drew you to pursue a career at Kraton?
I decided to join Kraton because of the challenge and fascination of chemistry as a young team. Coming from the automotive industry, I wanted to expand my Supply Chain background in a unique industry. I knew the chemical industry would diversify my supply chain background and provide different skills.
Q: Can you briefly explain your role and what you do?
I am the Supply Chain Manager for Planning in NA. I am responsible for the Supply Planning and Inventory Management in NA. My role positively impacts our customers by leading global collaboration to drive regional supply and demand decisions that will ensure customer supply is available. The goal for me is to have effective inventory on the ground to satisfy our customer base and not have ineffective inventory tying up working capital.
Q: How has Kraton contributed to your professional or personal growth and development?
My lead team at Kraton has helped me in my professional growth by continuously challenging me. One of my development goals is to work on my public speaking skills. Kraton partnered with Toastmasters and paid for my membership to help me achieve my goal. Kraton also offers numerous training courses that I have taken that helped me gain new skills and sharpened old ones.
Q: What aspects of Kraton’s company culture inspire or motivate you?
The most motivating and inspiring aspect of the company’s culture I have seen during my tenure is its workforce diversity and community involvement. The different backgrounds in the workforce are a plus because they bring different perspectives that can contribute to Kraton’s success. The most motivating aspect of Kraton’s culture is the community involvement. As part of a fraternal organization, I’m a big proponent of community involvement as it is a pillar of our work. Seeing Kraton share the same passion as I have personally makes me proud to work for the company.
Q: What would you tell someone considering a career at Kraton about why they should choose to work here?
To someone considering a career at Kraton, I would start off by saying Kraton is a great company. Kraton is a major player in the industry, always looking to be more innovative and expand its portfolio to gain and keep its market share. There are opportunities for growth in Kraton, and the company does really well promoting from within. Kraton has also cultivated a diverse workforce with people from unique backgrounds, and the people here are wonderful to work with. It’s a family vibe and a “One Kraton” team environment!
Q: What’s a fun fact about you?
I LOVE trading in the stock market. I study and watch the market every single day. It started off as a hobby, but it soon became an obsession. I primarily trade options but recently jumped into the Futures market. I hope to retire one day and become a full-time trader, and I can’t wait!
